Anxiety dreams about film screenings this morning. Smoke filled rooms and double projections, and a critical audience.
Getting this expanded cinema event together is a bit of a long haul. Freight, venues, fees, bookings, travel expenses, publicity, the right projectors…it’s all a bit much. I must say I don’t have the same relish for “organising stuff” for public events as I might have had recently. I mean, I can’t wait to show the film. It’s just all this behind the scenes stuff which bores me. Back and forth, back and forth, shoestring “budget” (mainly robbing my own scholarship).
BUT! It’s all going ahead! We are doing it! Anthony McCall’s “Line Describing a Cone” is on its way to Australia, and I hope we can give it the reception it deserves! (Kellerberrin, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney)…
